Role description
As a Field Engineer on our federal AI projects, you'll work directly with our largest public sector customers to make sure their experience with Scale's technology is smooth and successful. You'll help these customers build production-grade data pipelines, working closely with our Product, Engineering, and Operations teams. This means learning each customer's use cases in depth and building the tools and documentation they need to grow. The role sits at the intersection of customer delivery, product, and engineering. The ideal candidate is a generalist software engineer who enjoys working with clients, takes ambiguous problems and turns them into practical solutions, and collaborates closely with Product and Engineering along the way. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
What You'll Do
Build end-to-end data integrations that sync customer data to and from Scale's platform Work with customers' engineering teams to optimize data pipelines, including input on API endpoint design and input/output schemas Design and maintain playbooks, internal tools, documentation, and SDKs that set customers up for long-term success Partner with engineers and Operations to resolve technical blockers, debug delivery issues, and own technical escalations from customers Own the customer's technical experience throughout their time with Scale Work with Account Executives and Product Managers to identify customer-specific feature requests Develop expertise in large language models, 2D image annotation, and API integrations Represent Scale and engage with customers at major events
