We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Solutions Architecture to lead one of the company’s most critical growth engines: our global pre-sales organization. This executive will own the vision and strategy for how we show up technically with customers and will be directly accountable for driving durable, up‑market revenue growth. By partnering tightly with Sales and Product, this executive will lead a world‑class team that influences our technical GTM, wins complex modernization and AI workloads, and proves MongoDB as the database of choice for the most demanding enterprise applications. What you’ll do

What you’ll bring

20+ years of relevant experience, with 10+ years in technical pre-sales, solutions consulting, sales engineering, or similar customer-facing technical roles, including enterprise software/cloud/data platforms 3+ years successfully leading division-level or equivalent pre-sales organizations, navigating high velocity change, organizational complexity, and cross-functional collaboration while delivering measurable revenue impact Proven ability to set and execute strategic enterprise-wide change (e.g., GTM redesign, new product introductions, AI/modernization programs, major sales motion shifts) and design scalable operating models to drive sustained growth and measurable business impact Demonstrated ability to anticipate market changes, customer needs, and drive innovation through investments in cloud/data/AI-driven GTM environments Deep expertise and thought leadership in modern GTM and sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC / MEDDPICC), and a track record of institutionalizing these frameworks at scale—setting standards, inspecting rigor, and holding senior GTM leaders accountable to them Track record of owning a full P&L or functional budget: making strategic investment decisions, managing tradeoffs, and improving productivity and ROI over time Track record of building high-performing, inclusive leadership teams by addressing performance issues quickly and fairly, and creating cultures grounded in development, transparency, and continuous feedback Sound technical and commercial judgment working with complex solutions (e.g., cloud platforms, data/AI, infrastructure, developer tools), with depth to drive strategy and investments and build credibility in both technical and business forums Leadership & mindset Recognized as a “leader of leaders”: you attract, develop, and retain exceptional VP/Director-level talent and build a strong, diverse leadership bench Known for your ability to distill complex technical and commercial issues into clear, compelling narratives for any audience while preserving nuance and integrity Possess strong business acumen and executive gravitas, earning credibility with customer CIOs and senior technology leaders Serve as a key executive sponsor to our most strategic customers and partners by participating in Customer Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and executive programs, representing MongoDB to C-level customer stakeholders Operate as a customer-obsessed executive: you earn trust with customers and partners, and you work backwards from their outcomes to shape our strategy and roadmap.
